12 months of networking breakfasts – where has the time gone?

In December 2016 we were looking for new ways to expand the Herefordshire Means Business brand and continue trying to get more businesses connecting within the county.

Rich had an idea of starting a brand new informal breakfast meeting and decided to speak to our partners Hereford FC to see if they would be willing to hold the event at the football club. Martin Brain, the commercial Director at Hereford FC, loved the idea and so the first breakfast meeting was scheduled to begin in January 2016.

With the Eventbrite all set up we waited to see if anyone would register to attend the event. To our surprise more and more bookings came in! By the time it came to the breakfast meeting on the 12th January 2017 we had over 65 delegates booked!

With the croissants, tea, coffee, juices and delegate badges set up we waited to see if the delegates would arrive, to our surprise the room was packed with people all chatting and networking. It was a huge success.

Now 12 months on we have moved rooms due to us out growing the original one and we are still averaging 55 people at every breakfast, even in the holidays! In 12 months we’ve had over 300 different businesses represented and business people attending the events from all over the county and further afield into Worcestershire, Shropshire, Gloucestershire and Wales. We have even had visitors from Bristol and Swansea – that was an early start!

For our 1st year birthday, this month, we had a lovely cake made by Kim and of course balloons supplied by the Balloon Shop. We were really pleased to also have over 60 attendees who helped us celebrate this special milestone.

We cannot thank Martin Brain from Hereford Football Club and all our attendees for their amazing support over the last 12 months of breakfasts and we are very much looking forward to the next 12 months!
